Life at Vitrio

How we actually work

A practical view of our working culture. This is what it's like day to day, at the size Vitrio is right now.

How We Work

Flexible, remote-friendly, and direct

Reviewing work at a desk

Vitrio is remote-friendly by default. What matters is the work getting done and done well, not hours logged at a desk. There's no multi-layer approval chain: if you need a decision, you ask the person who can make it, usually the same day.

That directness cuts both ways. You'll get context most new hires never see: real customer conversations, real product tradeoffs, real numbers, because at this size, hiding that from you would just slow everyone down.

A Day in the Life

What a real Tuesday looks like

A technician working among lab analyzers

You're not in a lab coat. Vitrio builds the software labs run on, not the tests themselves. A typical day is closer to this: a morning message from a real lab admin about a CSV import that didn't behave, a working session shipping the fix, a working call with the product team about what the next feature should do, and an afternoon with a customer laboratory about how they use the platform.

No standup theatre, no status-update-for-the-sake-of-it meetings. If there's nothing to say, there's no meeting.

Growth & Support

You'll grow by doing, not by sitting in a training queue

Learning happens on the work: real ownership from week one, direct feedback, and senior colleagues who explain the reasoning behind a product or business decision rather than simply handing down the outcome.

Compensation & Equity

Discussed openly, not hidden until an offer

Compensation is discussed openly and specifically for the role and the person, early in the conversation, not sprung on you after several interview rounds.

Equity, when it's part of an offer, comes with a real explanation of what it represents at this stage. No hand-waving about "upside" without the numbers behind it.

Inclusion

Judged on the work, not the resume

Notes on a desk

Vitrio serves labs across different countries and healthcare systems. The product only works if the people building it don't all see the world the same way. Hiring decisions are made on demonstrated ability and how you think through a real problem, not pedigree, and not where you're based.
